PART 1 OF 5 – THE DOCTRINE OF HELL
HELL IS THE ACTIVE WRATH OF GOD
Most churches avoid it.
Most preachers soften it.
Most sinners misunderstand it.
This first message establishes a truth modern Christianity resists: Hell is not merely separation from God. Hell is the revealed, judicial, active wrath of God.
In this sermon we examine:
• The meaning of wrath in Scripture
• The presence of the Lamb in judgment
• Why Revelation 14 destroys the “absence theory” of Hell
• The difference between Hell and the Lake of Fire
• Why the Cross proves wrath is real
• How weakening Hell weakens the Gospel
We walk verse by verse through:
Revelation 14:9–11
2 Thessalonians 1:7–9
Romans 1:18
Hebrews 10:30–31
Psalm 139:8
Romans 3:25
Isaiah 53
Revelation 20
This is not emotional rhetoric. This is biblical doctrine.
If Hell is only separation, then propitiation is unnecessary.
If wrath is not real, then the blood is unnecessary.
If judgment is softened, the Gospel is weakened.
The Lamb who saves is the Lamb who judges.
Every soul will meet Him either as Saviour or as Judge.
This series will carefully and biblically distinguish:
• Hell as the present place of torment
• The Lake of Fire as the final eternal state
• The Great White Throne judgment
• The judicial nature of divine wrath
Without Hell, there is no urgency.
Without wrath, there is no need for blood.
Without judgment, there is no Gospel.
The only refuge from the revealed wrath of God is faith in the shed blood and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Subscribe and follow this 5-part series as we build this doctrine carefully, boldly, and biblically.
Part 2 will examine the intermediate state in detail and trace the full timeline of final judgment.
