How to KNOW You’re Saved – Biblical Assurance That Cannot Be Shaken: Lesson 5 of 5

This is Lesson 5 of 5 in the series Blessed Assurance.

We have examined belief.

We have distinguished temporary faith from saving faith.

We have named the right Person, the Lord Jesus Christ.

We have defined the right Object, His shed Blood.

We have anchored faith in the right Facts, His death, burial, and resurrection according to the Scriptures.

Now we answer the question every honest soul eventually asks:

Can I know?

Not hope.

Not assume.

Not persuade myself.

Can I know that I have eternal life?

Scripture does not leave believers in suspense.

1 JOHN 5:11–13

11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

Assurance is not arrogance.

Assurance is not presumption.

Assurance is agreement with God’s record.

This lesson walks through:

• Assurance based on God’s written record

• The finished offering of Christ

• Eternal security in His hand

• No condemnation for those in Christ

• The blessed hope of His appearing

If your faith rests in the Lord Jesus Christ and His finished work, Scripture declares your assurance can be settled.

Right Person.

Right Object.

Right Facts.

Right Now.

Blessed assurance is not built on how strong you are.

It is built on how sufficient He is.

If this series has strengthened you, share it with someone who is struggling with doubt or trapped in works-based fear.
