LESSON 7: THE URGENCY OF THE GOSPEL

Eternity is not a theory. It is reality.

The gospel is not something to think about later. It is not something to put off until life settles down. It is a message that demands a response now.

In this lesson, we deal with one of the most dangerous lies a sinner can believe:

“I’ll do it later.”

There may not be a later.

2 CORINTHIANS 6:2

2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

In this lesson, you will clearly see:

• Why salvation is always offered in the present

• The danger of delaying belief

• How quickly life can be gone

• Why judgment is certain after death

• Why unbelief alone condemns a sinner

• The peace and security for those who have believed

You are not promised tomorrow.

You are not promised another opportunity.

You are not promised another breath.

JAMES 4:14

14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

HEBREWS 9:27

27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

The issue at judgment will not be your effort.

It will not be your morality.

It will not be your religion.

The issue will be this:

Did you trust how that Christ died for your sins?

JOHN 3:18

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

For those who have believed, there is no fear.

JOHN 10:28–29

28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.

But for those who have not believed, the time is now.

Do not wait.

Do not delay.

Do not harden your heart.

The gospel has been declared.

The truth has been made clear.
