The tabernacle was never merely a structure in the wilderness. It was a sermon built of wood, brass, linen, and blood. Every curtain, every vessel, and every sacrifice pointed forward to one person and one event: the Lord Jesus Christ and the cross of Calvary.
In this message, “From Gate to Glory: The Blood Path Through the Tabernacle,” we walk step by step through the tabernacle exactly as God designed it. From the outer gate to the mercy seat, the path reveals the sinner’s journey to a holy God. At every stage the same question echoes through the camp of Israel:
Where is the blood?
The tabernacle teaches that God desires to dwell with man, but His holiness demands justice. Sin cannot be ignored. It must be judged. Yet God Himself provided the substitute. From the brazen altar to the torn veil, every part of the tabernacle declares that access to God is not through religion, reform, or human effort. Access comes only through the shed blood.
HEBREWS 9:22
22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
In this sermon you will see the entire gospel illustrated in the tabernacle:
• The Gate revealing the one way to God.
• The Brazen Altar declaring substitution and sacrifice.
• The Laver showing cleansing for service.
• The Holy Place revealing light, bread, and prayer for the redeemed.
• The Veil separating sinful man from a holy God.
• The Mercy Seat where blood satisfies divine justice.
• The High Priest entering once with blood for the people.
All of it finds its fulfillment in the Lord Jesus Christ.
ROMANS 3:25
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
The tabernacle was a shadow. Christ is the substance. The path from the gate to the mercy seat preaches the same gospel that Paul declared to the church.
1 CORINTHIANS 15:3–4
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
If you want to understand the gospel in living color, study the tabernacle. God painted redemption across the wilderness long before Calvary happened.
The message is simple and eternal:
Sin demands death.
God provides substitution.
The blood satisfies justice.
The question every sinner must answer is the same question the tabernacle asks at every step of the journey.
