WHEN GOD SEES THE BLOOD | Exodus 12:1-13
What was God looking for on the night of the Passover?
Not sincerity.
Not religion.
Not morality.
Not good works.
God said, “When I see the blood…”
In this message we examine one of the greatest pictures of salvation found anywhere in the Old Testament. Exodus 12 is more than Israel’s deliverance from Egypt. It is a powerful picture of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, whose precious shed blood satisfies God’s judgment against sin.
In this sermon you will learn:
• Why judgment is certain.
• Why God provided a lamb.
• Why the lamb had to be without blemish.
• Why the lamb had to die.
• Why the blood had to be applied.
• Why God looked for the blood.
• Why everyone behind the blood was safe.
• How the Passover points directly to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Bible teaches one consistent message from Genesis to Revelation. A holy God can only receive sinful man through the blood of a perfect sacrifice.
The Lord Jesus Christ lived a sinless life, shed His precious blood for our sins, died, was buried, and rose again the third day according to the scriptures. Salvation is not found in religion, baptism, church membership, or good works. It is found by placing your faith in the finished work and shed blood of Jesus Christ.
