WHEN THE LORD SHUTS THE DOOR | Noah’s Flood & the Gospel

What happens when the opportunity to believe is gone?

Preached at the 2026 Faith in His Blood Revival in Sweetwater, Tennessee, this message, “When the Lord Shuts the Door,” looks at the days of Noah, the judgment of the Flood, and the terrifying finality of the moment when God Himself shut the door of the ark.

There was a time when the door was open. There was a time when Noah preached. There was a time when men could have believed. Then came the moment when the opportunity was over.

GENESIS 7:16

16 And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in.

The same Flood that brought judgment upon the unbelieving world lifted the ark above the judgment. Those inside were safe. Those outside discovered too late that Noah had been telling them the truth.

Jesus Christ has already paid the price for your salvation. He died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day according to the scriptures. Salvation is not earned by turning your life around, keeping commandments, joining a church, getting baptized, or promising God that you will do better. Salvation is received by faith.

1 CORINTHIANS 15:1-4

1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

ROMANS 3:25

25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Do not wait until judgment proves the preacher was right.

Do not wait until the rain begins to fall.

Do not wait until the door is shut.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ while the door is still open.
