Wilt Thou Not Revive Us Again? | The Book, The Blood, and The Blessed Hope

The first Mission 1611 Tent Meeting has begun, and the question that echoes through Scripture and through every generation is the same question the psalmist asked long ago.

PSALM 85:6

6 Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?

Revival is not a program. Revival is not emotional excitement. Revival cannot be scheduled by a calendar or manufactured by a preacher. True revival must come from God.

In this first official meeting under the Mission 1611 Gospel Tent, we open the Scriptures and examine one of the clearest pictures of revival in the Word of God. Mount Carmel shows us that the fire of God only falls when the right altar is restored and the right sacrifice is offered.

Religion can be loud. Religion can be active. Religion can even be passionate. But heaven does not answer every altar that man builds.

God answers only when the sacrifice He has ordained is placed upon the altar.

This message reveals the three pillars that form the altar of true revival in this present age:

• The Book – the preserved words of God that establish the authority of the altar

• The Blood – the only sacrifice God accepts for the remission of sins

• The Blessed Hope – the imminent return of Jesus Christ that fuels urgency and holiness

When these three stand together, the fire of God still falls.

PSALM 12:6–7

6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

HEBREWS 9:22

22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

1 CORINTHIANS 15:3–4

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

TITUS 2:13

13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

If the church is going to see revival again, the altar must be restored.

The Book must be exalted.

The Blood must be preached.

The Blessed Hope must be expected.

And when those pillars stand together, God still answers.
