WITHOUT SHEDDING OF BLOOD | Why the Blood Was Necessary
Why was the shedding of blood necessary? Why could good works, religion, baptism, morality, and human sincerity never provide remission of sins?
Sin creates guilt. Guilt demands judgment. Judgment requires death. If the sinner is to receive remission, an acceptable substitute must shed his blood and die in the sinner’s place.
HEBREWS 9:22
22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
In this message, Dr. Robert Potthoff follows the scarlet thread of redemption from the sacrifices under the law to the finished work of Jesus Christ at Calvary. Animal blood could never take away sin, but Jesus Christ offered Himself once for all and obtained eternal redemption through His own blood.
God does not forgive sin by ignoring His holiness or dismissing the sinner’s debt. Remission is available because Jesus Christ made the required payment. He shed His blood, died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.
1 CORINTHIANS 15:3-4
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
This message addresses:

• Why animal sacrifices could not take away sin
• How God prepared the perfect sacrifice
• How Christ obtained eternal redemption

• How remission is received through faith in His blood
• Why every bloodless gospel must be rejected
ROMANS 3:25
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
The blood has been shed. The payment has been made. The Saviour has risen.
Have you believed on the Lord Jesus Christ?
